Trek Stache Mid Fat Bike:

The Trek Stache is a new generation of mountain bike with wider clearance for wider tires, think fat bikes not so fat quicker little brother. The 3” tires and shorter chainstays provide nimble handling and excellent traction no matter what Colorado terrain you face.

Wider hub spacing on both the front (110mm) and rear (148mm) dropouts allows for wider tires. Wider hubs make for less flexy wheels that ride true and stiff. The 3” tubeless ready tires give plenty of suspension for a full suspension feel on a hardtail bike.  We also noticed the internal routing of the dropper post and felt this was a much needed improvement.

With the ability to run 29”+ wheels, 27.5”+ wheels or standard 29” XC wheels coupled 110mm of travel in the front suspension The Stache is an all-around awesome bike for any adventure.

We took it for a test ride and we were surprised by the narrow turning radius and handling at low speeds. No doubt this is due to the shorter chain stays and wider than normal MTB tires. The 1X11 drivetrain is simple to use and still provides a wide range of gear choices. Nicely equipped with a dropper seat post furthering the versatility of this one of a kind bike. The Manitou Magnum 34 Pro front suspension operates smooth alongside the Chupacabra 3” tires from Bontrager. The Trek Stache will be the perfect bike for all the Front Range has to offer.
