OUR COMMUNITY

GIVING BACK TO cyclING

We give back to the community in many ways, both near and far. From COMBA, and JCOS locally to People For Bikes nationally to Bicycles For Humanity internationally, Wheat Ridge Cyclery is fully invested in all levels of cycling advocacy.

Colorado High School Cycling League

WRC was instrumental in bringing the high school league to Colorado in 2009. Since that inaugural year, our single largest annual financial support goes to the Colorado High Cycling League, an organization responsible for creating a welcoming community and empowering youth through interscholastic mountain bike racing.

As a longtime Black Diamond level sponsor of COMBA, WRC continues to contribute to the vision and benefits provided by this stellar organization. Advocacy, trail building, stewardship, education, dedicated programs and deep community involvement – COMBA does it all. If you ride MTBs, you need to join COMBA!

Jefferson County Open Space

WRC provides its employees with paid advocacy days to go out and assist in trail stewardship efforts.

Bikes for Humanity

Since 2010, WRC has contributed to Bicycles for Humanity, the global movement to provide empowerment to the people of Africa with basic transportation and mobility. Each year we collect hundreds of bikes that are loaded into sea shipping containers with tools and consumables that are then set up in Africa as local Bicycle Empowerment Centers.

People for Bikes

Through our many years supporting People for Bikes, urban cyclists in the Denver Metro area have been riding safer, marked, established routes, commuting to work and school.

Wheatridge Local Works

Since the inception of the Ridge at 38 business district, WRC has hosted numerous local events designed to enrich the community. From bike races to holiday parades, WRC and Local Works bring the fun together.

Colorado High School Cycling League

Physical activity is one of the key treatment factors for mental health. Go4Graham is at the forefront of promoting mental wellness through exercise, community and education

Comba

WRC has supported this fine organization for many years, since the early days when it was known as Trips 4 Kids. We Ride 4 is a community of cyclists giving more kids the chance to experience healthier lifestyles. Underserved and at-risk youth get the opportunity to experience Colorado’s abundant natural beauty form the seat of a bike.
